BRC v DC, IPL Match 51, Bangalore: Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Deccan Chargers

Chasing a target of 165 runs, Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Deccan Chargers by five wickets in the Indian Premier League at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium on Sunday.
The Royal Challengers reached 171 for the loss of five wickets in 19 overs. Misbah-ul-Haq made 34 while Cameron White batted to the end, scoring 31 runs. With both teams already out of the contention for a semifinal spot in the IPL, few fans turned up to see the game, and all that was left to play for was avoiding the ignominy of finishing in the last spot. Hardly 20 per cent of the 40,000 seats were occupied when the match began at 4pm.
Chargers are the only team in the tournament which are yet to register a win at their home ground. Their two wins in 12 matches came in Bangalore and Chennai. Despite the presence of several stars like Adam Gilchrist, Herschelle Gibbs and Shahid Afridi, Chargers have failed to make any impression and face the threat of ending bottom.
