Kings XI Punjab elected to bat first and lost the wicket of Katich in the 2nd over. Sohal with 43 runs and Gole with 20 were the major contributor's for the Punjab innings. Harbhajan Singh was amazing, taking a wicket and giving only 9 runs in 4 overs. DUminy (15-2) and Rahane (5-1) also helped limit the total of Punjab to under 120.

After limiting Kings XI Punjab to 119/9, Chennai Super Kings cruised to victory at the loss of only 2 wickets and with 22 balls remaining. Bravo's unbeaten 70 runs were also instrumental in Mumbai's big win. Sachin Tendulkar finally found his form in this game and was not out for 41.

Harbhajan Singh was named Man of the Match for his 9-1 in 4 overs.
