Kings XI Punjab handed Mumbai Indians their third defeat in five matches by defending a low total and eventually scoring a three-run win in a thrilling Indian Premier League match in Durban.
Kumar Sangakkara had helped himself to an unbeaten 45 (44 deliveries), showing superb temperament in the face of a strong bowling from the Indians as the Kings XI made a meagre 119 for eight, batting first.
Jean-Paul Duminy had kept Mumbai in the hunt with a superbly crafted 59, but his departure in the final over, bowled by Yusuf Abdulla, helped Kings XI run out winners.
