Irfan Pathan and Sreesanth took two wickets apiece as Kings XI Punjab defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by nine runs in their Indian Premier League match at the PCA Stadium.
Apart from David Hussey, who made 71 runs, and Prasanta Saha (59*) no other batsmen stood their grounds. Kolkata Knight Riders were restricted at 169/6 in their full quota of 20 overs by the Kings XI bowlers.
Kings XI Punjab scored a competitive 178 for the loss of six wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium on Saturday.
Opener Shaun Marsh was the top scorer for Kings XI with 40 off 32 balls.
Except for Karan Goel, all Kings XI batsmen scored double figures with leg-spinner Piyush Chawla scoring a quick fire 21 off seven balls late in the innings to help the hosts set up a challenging target before the Knight Riders.

The 2009 ICC World Twenty20 is a Twenty20 cricket tournament scheduled to take place in England in June of 2009. It will be the second World Twenty20 and will consist of 12 teams, contested by all Test-playing nations plus qualifiers (Ireland, Netherlands and Scotland)
The Champions Twenty20 League, formed with the official sanction of ICC will kick off in October 2008. Eight domestic teams from four nations will participate. Cricket Australia will partner the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket South Africa (CSA). The champion team in the Champions Twenty20 league will get US $5 million, which is the highest ever prize money for a cricket event.
