KOHLI NOT HAVING EASY TIME

The Indian top order batsman Virat Kohli who is currently considered as the best ODI batsman going around isn’t finding it easy at all in South Africa. He has struggled to score fluently so far in the ongoing ODI series against the rainbow nation.

In the first game of the series which was played on a bouncy Johannesburg wicket, Kohli had played decently. He had taken a couple of body blows after making his way to the crease there, but, he had slowly started to get into his groove. Then, all of a sudden he perished trying to flirt with an away going delivery from Ryan McLaren. He should have left that, but, he tried to run it down to third man and ended up edging it. De Kock behind the stumps completed an easy catch and Kohli was on his way back.

Kohli got out exactly in the same fashion in the second game as well which was played at Durban. The pitch over there wasn’t as bouncy as that in Johannesburg and India was not chasing a huge score either.  So, the situation was a bit easier for Kohli, but, he couldn’t deliver the goods. In fact, he couldn’t even open his account and was caught behind the stumps.

The only difference this time around was that he didn’t edge it genuinely. He played it more with the face of the bat, but, instead of playing it square, he played it too fine and gave the wicketkeeper a catch practice.

Kohli would like to make a mark in the next game and go into the test series with a good frame of mind.

The third game of the ODI series is going to be played at SuperSport Park, Centurion.
